- “the truth about me” is the first prototype of the artist’s sophmore release, “I Pledge Allegiance To Myself” - which was further developed by - and later came out on - Appleseed Records.
After releasing Holy Road: Freedom Songs on Warner Bros., Before Appleseed Records came on board to release, “I Pledge Allegiance To Myself” - there were these recordings - “the truth about me”…
West’s sophmore album demos for Warner Bos. - were produced and compiled by the artist in this collection, as a possible prototype for her 2nd Warner album…
The label did not accept West’s proposed album, requesting she keep writing and demoing…
So … shortly after, West left the label, asked for the demos back, and was able to release some of them - in collaboration with Jim Musselman and crew at Appleseed Records.
