This is the first new song released in my name... in 20 years...

...it's a sequel to my Christmas Song, which was featured on my first Warner Bros. Records release. You may remember it, that song was called Family Christmas.
This one is called...
"Family Fourth"

"The Kitchen Demos" were recently discovered by my fan, or my "fam" as I call him - he is a great friend of my music who asked me to finally return to commercial recording and touring under my real name - Lizzie West - this year.

He came and found me in a Fox Hole, hiding out under my pen name. We met weekly, became good friends, built trust and decided it was time. He went digging through my archives for around three months to find the music he most wanted me to release first.

He chose a collection of solo demos that I had sent him as samples of a concert I was rehearsing. I thought of the collection as "the bones of my new show..." so his choice was surprising to me but I was intrigued. I just didn't really think anyone would ever hear my pantry songs beyond the Kitchen when I first recorded them.

But I agreed to release The Kitchen Demos as an album, even though they were so raw - because I knew the angels had been in the room with me when I recorded them, and also, because, my heart tells me now, that my life - and my work - belong more and more to You, to me following the lead of my true fans - my "fam."

My fam and I decided to start a collectibles record label together - to put out a first printing of The Kitchen Demos this Fall, through our own independent product development company called - "Because of You Music Co." Thank you Andrew vanBerkel.

Recorded in the pantry at my little family Homestead in the Catskills, from September 2024-January 2025, The Kitchen Demos album was captured by me, on my i-phone, using the i-messages app, in the early morning hours, when everyone else in the old farmhouse was still sleeping - long rich moments alone, just me and the songs, before I put my daughter on the bus each day.

"Family Fourth" shares the ongoing tale of a family that we first met in 2003, when I released "Family Christmas"... It's the story of my own personal, national and generational healing, - about needing to break the chains of negative programming, find great people to share common ground with and start all over.

Years ago, I began a new, healthy, family life, from scratch. - "created a new pie crust", so to speak, - started all over in the Kitchen and created a bunch of new songs...
